A Heartfelt Return to Skwlax and Quaaout Lodge

Having a heartfelt reunion and visit with old and new friends and relatives from the Squilax First Nation ( Little Shuswap ) although in the Shuswap Language they are known as Skwlax. The settlers could not say the Shuswap name so it is known today as Squilax. Skwlax in the Shuswap language means Black Bear.

What a great inspiration to be at the Quaaout Lodge and visit all the new developments and changes since I was last here, more than 20 years ago! It was at Skwlax that we had great workshops and our last Four World's Summer Institute There is no way to describe in words the peace and tranquility that I am enjoying!

Despite many challenges and obstacles that the First Nations of Canada have faced, as the outworn, materialistic, colonial political and economic systems are collapsing, globally, as prophecied, our First Nations are rising!
