A Ceremonial Declaration on Breaking the Cycle of War
Relatives,
we gather in this circle, beneath the endless sky,
upon the sacred body of Mother Earth,
to speak words that are not only for us,
but for the generations yet unborn,
and for the spirits who have walked before us.
We remember:
The hoop of life is sacred.
Every nation, every people, every being of creation—
is part of that hoop.
When the hoop is broken by greed, fear, and pride,
then war follows.
When the hoop is mended with courage, truth, and unity,
then peace blossoms.
On the Sickness of War
For too long, war has been turned into an industry.
They call it “military Keynesianism,”
but we know its true name:
the sacrifice of our children,
the plundering of Mother Earth,
for the illusion of power and profit.
We say clearly:
to push humanity toward a Third World War
is to choose suicide for the human family.
The fire of nuclear weapons would not spare
the innocent or the guilty,
the East or the West,
the victor or the defeated.
It would consume us all.
On the Web of Deception
We have seen how deception is woven like a spider’s web.
False houses, hidden drones,
intelligence whispered through satellites,
attacks carried out in shadow.
They say one hand acts alone,
but we see the greater hand guiding it.
Trust has been broken.
Agreements dishonored.
Peace cast aside.
The bodies of the dead even refused their return,
their spirits unsettled,
their mothers denied closure.
This is not the way of a people who honor life.
On the Traps of the Mind
Why do people not rise against this madness?
Because their minds are trapped.
Confirmation bias blinds them—
they hear only the lies repeated day after day.
They are told who is good, who is evil,
until they cannot see with their own eyes.
Group think imprisons leaders—
they speak only to each other,
believe only their own voices,
reward only those who echo their songs.
And so they march together into disaster,
pulling the world with them.
The Sacred Choice Before Us
But relatives,
we are not without choice.
We can continue the cycle of war—
a cycle that stretches from Korea, Vietnam, Iraq,
Afghanistan, Libya, and Ukraine—
a cycle that leaves behind only destruction and grief.
Or, we can rise together,
as one human family,
and declare that the era of war is ended.
This is not only a political choice.
It is a spiritual choice.
It is the choice between remembering who we are,
or forgetting forever.
So let it be spoken in this circle:
The hoop of life will be mended.
The sacred fire of peace will not be extinguished.
The children yet unborn are watching us now.
The ancestors are standing behind us.
We declare:
We will break the cycle of war.
We will walk the sacred road of peace.
We will live as one human family,
in unity, in truth, in justice,
upon our sacred Mother Earth.
