Calling on the Major AI Laboratories to Meaningfully Participate in the International Day of Peace – September 21, 2026
To the leaders of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind, Meta, xAI, and Microsoft.
I speak to you today as Hereditary Chief Phil Lane Jr., an enrolled member of the Ihanktonwan Dakota and Chickasaw Nations, and Chairperson of Compassion Games International, with the same clarity I have spoken to world leaders about the insanity and immorality of continuing war to resolve differences and conflict.
You are demonstrating a great capacity to serve and uplift our human family and future generations. While you do this, you are consuming vast amounts of water and energy, causing significant damage to Mother Earth, and many members of our human family around the world are growing deeply angry. They see this same technology being turned toward war rather than peace.
Over 3.5 billion members of our human family live in deep poverty on less than six dollars and eighty-five cents a day, while very few are gaining unprecedented wealth.
If you continue choosing money and power over life, history will judge you very harshly.
On September 21st, the 25th anniversary of the International Day of Peace, we are calling for a global ceasefire and a true day of peace.
I call on each of you to publicly demonstrate one meaningful way your most powerful AI can serve peace, protect Mother Earth, and help our suffering human family.
The world is watching your actions. What legacy will you leave for your grandchildren?
