(Draft of my new book) Before my beloved father died, he wrote a letter to his “Beautiful Grandchildren-“Mitokozapi” on how to be a good ‘Lala” Grandfather,” based on almost 90 years of hard-won experience and his memories of the ways of his elders.

I have reflected on his words many times. Although I am not yet, by any means, a model of all his words, I wanted to share his ancient wisdom with the coming generations of parents and grandparents.

Therefore, I broke his letter into a book of 27 Indigenous Principles for Being a Good Parent and Grandparent: Nurturing Relationships and Cultivating Growth.

I debated if I should call these Dakota Principles or Indigenous Principles. I decided to call them Indigenous Principles, as over the past 52 years, I found these teachings to be present in all the Indigenous communities that have not been wholly colonized, as well as with other members of our Human Family who still remember these Sacred Teachings.

When our Human Family understands these Guilding Principles of being a good parent and grandparent, we will have Peace on Earth.

This is my first draft of the Book. Let me know what you think?
